well they made cloth alotColors of Renaissance clothing were given meanings as shown by the following:
Green = love
Gray = sorrow
Yellow = hostility
Blue = fidelity (except in the Low Countries where it represented adulterous wives)
Red = nobility
Black & Gray = lower status people
Cloth making was an industy of major importance. Enormous numbers of people would have worked at spinning (normally a woman’s job) weaving, dyeing etc. Sewing of course would be an important craft, as cloth would need to be made into clothing Embroidery would be an important craft, as the clothes of rich people would be finely embroidered. As well as making clothes, thread might be woven into tapestires, and this was a major renaissance craft.
Metalwork was a craft of major importance, whether it was used by blacksmiths, swordsmiths, jewellery makers etc.
Other important crafts would have included pottery, carpentry, glassmaking etc.
