Halloween Arts & Crafts Ideas – Look Spooky This Halloween

The first and foremost task involved in preparing for Halloween is to look out for places on where you can get yourself the costume you have been wanting to wear and show off amongst your friends. Halloween is all about wearing the dress you never even imagine of wearing on any other day of the year. Of course you would know that or else you would not be reading this article. The best option to look for ideas, on where to buy costumes or how to prepare one, is the Internet. Like all other information, tons of ideas for Halloween can be found on the Internet. Even though this article does not contain all the ideas for a complete Halloween, it would definitely help you start your preparation.

Halloween is just about creating a theme and strictly abiding to the theme. You can also have a normal party with people coming in different costumes but it would be real fun if you set aside a theme for Halloween. Halloween is about having fun decorations making it scary and eerie.

Let us take some time in going through a few ideas that can make you Halloween interesting.

Idea #1 – Do you have a bush in front of your house? Or can you create one just for the occasion? If yes, you are about to be the point of attraction in your neighborhood. Make a note of the items required for this idea. You need a white sheet as per the size of the bush, a newspaper, permanent black magic marker or fabric paint and cloth pins. The idea is to make a ghost like figure by painting a ghost on the white paper, folding the white sheet, balancing the sheet with the newspaper and securing the figure with the help of clothespins. Sounds really simple but it is definitely going to scare the passerby.

Idea #2 – The other idea for Halloween is to make your house look very festive and very scary, both the inside and the outside. I will show you how to get a scary path way. You will need lots of brown lunch bags, orange paint, sand and tea light or votive candle. Paint the bags orange in color and cut it out to make a scary face of a pumpkin. Fill half of the pumpkin face with sand and put a candle in it and light it. Make lots of these along the pathway and it would look really scary.

Idea #3 – You will require orange construction paper, white construction paper, pencil, scissors, string, tape, glue and staples. Draw a picture of a ghost on the white chart paper and pumpkin faces on the orange one. Be sure to make it a free hand draw to get originality. Also leave some space on top of the chart so that you can hang it to make a garland of ghosts and pumpkin faces. Fold over the space and place the string by the fold. Secure the created articles using staples, glue and tape. The pumpkin garland would look good with a green string and the ghosts with a black string to have a good contrast. Hang them all round your house and start the party.

Apart from these ideas, tons of examples and ideas can be found on the World Wide Web, but the best information center is your brain. As said creativity is the master of all arts.

Twist it at an equal distance from the either end to form the bubble and make sure the round balloon cannot turn around. Now, try to twist both the end bubbles together to make the tail of the fish. When the balloons are tied together, tie one end of the piece of long balloon and inflate one end of it and twist a little before half point to form the bubble. Insert the flat end inside the long balloon behind the lips and inflate the other half of the bit and tie the end. Rotate it to hide the end knots downwards and you have the eyes for your fish. Scrapbooking Crafts-Make this Personalized Book Marker Using Easy to Find Wrapping or Scrapbooking Paper

Are you or someone you know an avid reader?  Try making a personalized custom book marker so you’ll never lose your place.  You can make several of these in no time at all using cardboard and antiqued looking wrapping paper.  What a quick way to create art with decorative scrap paper and your own personalized 3-D foam letter, as you’ll find out by reading below.

Begin by selecting a scrap piece of wrapping paper that resembles time gone by.  If you don’t have any left over wrapping paper, you can find some very inexpensive paper at your local craft store.  For this project an antiqued looking sports theme was used in a flat finish. (tan, brown, black and olive)  Using scissors cut the wrapping paper in to two 8”H x 2”W strips. Next, cut one piece of thin scrap cardboard in to an 8”H x 2”W piece to match in size the two strips of paper you’ve already cut and set aside. Spray Artist Adhesive to one side of the cardboard and apply one of the wrapped paper strips to it, smooth out any wrinkles and allow time to dry, approx. 5 minutes. Next, flip the quickly to be finished custom book marker over and repeat the same process on the other side.  Now, to add the personalizing touch to your project, add a 3-d foam letter sticker for scrapbooking to the front side of your marker. For this project we used a cream colored S letter, 1.5” x 1.5”.

That’s all there is to it.  A nice simple craft, and a special and personalized custom book marker. A great classroom craft for teachers, or just the rest of us everyday home crafters.

Supplies:

Decorative scrap wrapping paper (Flat finish) Ruler Scissors Artist Spray Adhesive 3-d Foam letter sticker for scrapbooking (One letter, size 1.5” x 1.5”)

Examples of Craft Projects in Schools

Craft projects are enjoyable and educational activities for children in school. It is an effective way to instill good values to children while they are having fun at the same time.

School children are often formed in groups and they make craft projects. It makes them think that they are just having fun in school when in fact they are learning many different things at the same time. Craft projects are effective means of teaching children the value of cooperation, teamwork, and patience. It also makes them more self-confident while honing their creativity at the same time.

The following shows some examples of school craft projects that children do in school.

Homework Bulletin Board
This bulletin board is used for posting reminders about classroom projects, homework assignments, field trips, notes about school supplies and special occasions. This is a wonderful way to help children keep track of the upcoming activities in school, to take note of their individual performances and remind them of the upcoming birthdays of their classmates.

The materials needed to make homework bulletin board are paper, whiteboard or corkboard combination, thumbtacks, school-themed stickers, whiteboard marker and reward stickers.

The first step to do is to decorate the whiteboard and corkboard with colorful school-themed stickers around the sides. Tie a pen or marker with a string and put it on the side of the board. This will be the writing instrument used to post any kind of announcement on the board.

Put several the slips of paper in a drawer. It can also be possible to put the supplies inside the envelope and affix it to the corkboard. The students will write on these papers the messages they want to post. There can also be reward stickers. The most common shape is a star. These stickers can be affixed next to the names of outstanding students in class.

When it is finished, the students can start posting in the bulletin board. It can be a reminder of the next field trip, congratulatory remarks or personal greetings. The teacher could partake in the bulletin board too.

Scrapbook Page Layout
The scrapbook page layout may be used to treasure special school memories. It only needs a paper crimper and other specialized objects. Furthermore, it is easy to make and very useful for the kids.

The basic materials needed are a pencil, scissors, scrapbook pages, borderlines wavy ruler, fiskars paper crimper, oval creative memories custom cutting system, solid red paper, school days stickers, yellow acid free paper, and tape runner or any acid-free adhesive.

First, trace the wavy ruler twelve times onto the red paper. Then cut them all. Second, run each piece on the paper crimper. After that, affix the strips with adhesive around the border of both pages.

Cut out six pieces of oval shapes using the creative memories custom cutting tool. Then, join them to the pages with adhesive. Place the stickers anywhere on the desired page. Then lastly, paste many pictures and journals.

Personalized Locker Mirrors
Some lockers look boring but students can always design and personalize their own lockers. One way is to make personalized locker mirrors. The child’s first name, school team or nickname can be also written there. Hang them up on the locker door. You can use magnets as an alternative.

The basic materials needed are scrapbook sticker decorations, 12 by 18 sheet of craft foam, 5 pieces of rounded mirrors, foam letter stickers, white-colored craft glue, cardboard or “manila file folder”, cutting tool, “gem-Tac or jewelry glue” and 4 pieces of 3/4 rounded ceramic craft magnets.

First, cut the foam sheet in half. Then draw the mirror onto the middle of one half of the craft foam sheet. Afterwards, do the same way to the other half. Second, cut an attractive shape around the mirror drawing. But make sure that there are still enough spaces for the frame. However, just cut random curves all throughout the sides for the girl’s mirror. But cut a regular football shape for the boy’s mirror.

Put the mirror inside a cardboard or manila folder. Then, mark out the mirror and cut around the tracing to reveal the mirror. You can decorate the sides or frame.

Glue the cardboard and mirror to the second half of the craft foam sheet. The foam frame has to be over the mirror. The white craft glue is used to connect the foam frame to the mirror and foam backing.

Use the gem-Tac will be used to affix the four magnets to the foam’s back part. You can spell out your name on the frame with alphabet stickers.
