Fathers Day Crafts-Here is a Unique Specialty Gift Wrapping for Fathers Day That Anyone Can do

Ok, so you have the Fathers Day gift, now what?  Well why not incorporate some simple sports or hobby themed related items to your gift wrapping.    In order words, try adding layers of interest to what would normally be considered a traditional gift wrapped box with a bow.  This project will demonstrate how easily anyone can spice up a plain wrapped gift for Fathers Day that your loved one is sure to enjoy.

This project is all about the details.  Not only are you creating visual interest, your also something that your one love can use after the gift is unwrapped.

You will need the following supplies:

Sports or hobby related gift wrapping paper – We chose one that has an antiqued look to it. 1 small bungee cord – Use a medium or large bungee cord for larger boxes or packages.  Bungee cords come in a variety of colors and sizes.  Coordinate the color of your bungee cord with the colors in your wrapping paper. 1 name tag – Store bought or you can make your own.  Hole puncher Ribbon or cording – Choose a color that matches the colors in your gift wrapping. 1 decorative sports related item.  Choose items that can be easily attached to the end of your bungee cord.  You can purchase one at a party supply or craft store.   Another idea would be to look at what you have in the garage or in the house.   For example, your husband loves to play darts.  You could buy a package of darts and attach one of them to the bungee cord. Scotch tape Scissors Sharpie pen

Steps 1 – Begin by measuring and cutting your themed wrapping paper.  You can also use plain colored wrapping paper and stamp a sports or hobby related theme pattern on to your paper using different colored ink.   In attempt to keep this project simple, I opted for a decorative single sheet store bought wrapping paper.

Step 2 – Wrap paper and secure with scotch tape.

Step 3 – Using your hole puncher, punch a hole out on the top of the name tag and address card using your sharpie pen.  Set name tag aside.

Step 4 – Wrap bungee cord around the center of your box or package hooking the ends together.

Step 5 – Thread your ribbon or cording through the opening of your name tag and attach to the bungee hooks, and tie the ribbon at the back of the hook.

Step 6 – Attach a decorative theme related item to the other bungee cord hook by securing with ribbon or cording.  Take care not to cover too much of the design of your sports or hobby related wrapping paper.

The Secret to the Perfect Father’s Day Involves No Ties!

Father’s Day is quickly approaching and it is time to think about what to get dad on this day. Ditch the idea of running to the mall to purchase him another tie to collect dust in his closet. The only time he wears ties is when he is forced to attend a Father’s Day Brunch “tie required” venue. The man doesn’t even like ties! What else is on your list, a wallet? Be creative man. Next, you are going to suggest giving him a beer koozie you got free during Spring Break as a promotional item at some club event. Is a koozie truly appropriate to give to the man that paid for your trip so you could spend a week of debauchery, binge drinking, and watching wet t-shirt contests on a beach providing you with the best time of your life? No! It is not. You need to think of something grandeur. Since you seem to be at a loss for what to get him this year, I am going to help you think of a gift your dad will love for years to come.

If Your Father Loves Beer, then Here is the Perfect Gift!
I do not drink, and I do not promote drinking, but if your father loves beer, then get him a beer maker kit. Alternatively, what about a day trip to a local brewery? Arrange a car with a driver, so no one has to worry about a designated driver. Enjoy the day drinking, hanging out, eating, and tasting different beers. It is the perfect gift for every beer drinker regardless of his personality. It suits everyone from the low-key to the life of the party father.

Buy Him Season Tickets
Here is a gift for you for me present. By this I mean, if you buy your dad two season tickets to his favorite local sporting team, then you may benefit from it by being asked to come along to some, or all of the games. It is a win-win situation. And if the tickets are a bit prices, ask mom to pitch in. Talk to a few cousins. Round the usual suspects, ask for money, because this is a father’s day gift he will appreciate…unless you live in Detroit and get him Detroit Lions tickets. Then you may wish to rethink the gift and move on to my next idea.

Pizza Makes the World Go Round
No man really wants to get dressed up to go out for Father’s Day, unless there are beverages and pizza involved. So why not take dad for a night out to a gourmet pizza restaurant. There is something for every taste. You may choose a pizza as sophisticated or as simple as you like. There is a kids’ menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, salads, sandwiches, and pizza with toppings uncommon to find anywhere else. It adds to the night. It will satisfy every member of the family no matter how old or young each person is. It is the ideal solution meeting everyone’s food needs.

Homemade Father’s day gift/card for my fiance, from my 7 y/o son…? help! :)?

Obviously running out of time here…. I’ve been trying to think of some original ideas, something quick we can whip up *(we have the whole day tomorrow before we see him).

I have tons of arts and crafts supplies, so lots to work with, other than time.

This man has totally stepped into the role of father, to my 7 year old son, who’s real father is a turd and sees him only a couple times a year and calls him even less. My son has grown very attached to my fiance and we also have a new addition to the family on the way, and are moving into a house together in a couple months. It’s an amazing situation and i reallly want him to feel so very special, because he has done so very much for my son and i since he came into our lives.

Like i said, we are moving, and because of that, really really BROKE! So, i have no cash to get him anything,.. i really want to celebrate the daddy role he plays with my son, and the real daddy that he’s about to be, in january!

advice please!!!! :)

Any ideas for a simple Father’s Day craft for little kids?

I’m looking for an idea for a craft to make at our playgroup for Father’s Day. The kids are between 8 mo. and 3 yrs. so it can’t be that elaborate. It also needs to be relatively inexpensive and unique.
Keep in mind, most of the kids are under age 2 and have very poor fine motor skills!

Father?s Day Magnetic Photo Gift Idea – How to Make a Cheap DIY Homemade Refrigerator Photo Magnet

The perfect gift for Dad on Father’s Day is one that will be used often and shown with pride. A homemade, handcrafted photo magnet for his refrigerator is the perfect solution. When displayed on the fridge, Dad can see them everyday and know where to find them when it’s bragging time. I have a method of recycling those old calendar refrigerator magnets into a perfect Father’s Day gift for Dad. You can use this technique to display photos, kid’s artwork or craft projects. The cost is literally pennies.

The whole process it quite simple.

Start with a photo or craft project. Apply double sided tape to the back to make a homemade sticker. Peel the backing off your new sticker and place it on your recycled calendar magnet.

That’s it! You’re done!

How simple and cheap can a personalize Father’s Day gift get? The most difficult part of this project is selecting which photo to use or not getting carried away and making more magnetic photos than a fridge can hold.

The beauty behind this DIY Father’s Day gift is that it is cheap, an old unused calendar magnet, a few square inches of double sided tape and a photo. Also, it can be renewed! Yes, a perpetual gift, each time you have a new up to date photo, you, make a new photo sticker. Walk right up to your father’s fridge and stick that new photo sticker on top of the old one. Is that perfect or what? Dad always has the latest photo on display. When the photo magnet gets to heavy, peel the magnet off the old stickers and start over again.

Here are a few tips on making your Father’s Day photo magnet gift.

Select an appropriate magnet size for you photo or resize your photo. If framing your photo keep the materials lightweight and use a thicker magnet. Don’t be limited to photos, lightweight craft projects are great ideas and work well. Do not use cloth type carpet tape. Use mineral spirits to clean adhesives from cutting surfaces.

There are countless ways to add beauty and style to your Father’s Day Photo Magnet Gift.

The easiest is to cut the photo magnet to a unique shape. After attaching the photo to the magnet, use any sharp scissors to reshape the photo magnet, to follow the skyline for example. Build a lightweight frame for the photo or use a “matting” technique to enhance the photo. Add doodads or trinkets to spice up the photo. Clipart is a great way to add beauty or humor to your magnetic masterpiece.
