This year I am a craft leader at my church camp and I need projects which will be enjoyable for everyone from age 6-14. The theme is Joseph from the bible, if that helps any.

Toddler Crafts
Children ages two and up can sit at the table with paper and crayons. While younger children may not have a long attention span, the color will help keep a child entertained when you cannot play outdoors. There are many different crafts that adults can do. Jewelry and scrapbooking are two of the most popular. Sewing either by hand or machine, is an activity that can take up a lot of time and therefore, drive the rainy day blues.
Crafts do not have to be and is not geared to age. There are many different ship types, with different levels of difficulty for children in preschool all the way to adulthood. Keep craft supplies on hand will make a rainy day easier for everyone.

I need some arts and crafts projects, the kids I work with are pretty sick of watercolor and drawing pictures on the days I can’t think of anything really good! We’ve got a wide variety of materials. Have the child put together a “Cruise Photo Card” for mom, just make sure that there is an adult there to supervise the entire project. Give the child a piece of white construction paper and some crayons and have them draw their own luxury cruise liner. Make sure the ship includes all the usual luxury items, like a main deck, a pool deck, a first class deck, and so on. Draw the boat in the ocean, and then they can name the cruise ship something appropriate for mom. For example, make mom smile with the title of “Mom’s Dream Boat.” Then give them some pictures of family members to glue on various locations on the ship. For instance, you could stick a picture of dad on one of the cabin windows, put your dog on the main deck, and show mom relaxing by the pool. All you’ll need for this project will be two teddy bears (one small and one large), some ribbons, red construction paper, and some crayons or markers. Place the small bear next to the bigger bear, or in front of it, and then connect them with the ribbon. This symbolizes how mom protects and cares for them. You could even have them face each other. Then you can help (or at least supervise) as the child uses the construction paper to cut out the shape of a heart or a flower. On the construction paper shape have them write a loving message to their mom. Then, use some more ribbon to tie the message to the little bear, as if its giving the message to its bear mama. There is no mother whose heart won’t melt a little when she receives this gift from her little one. Remember, gifts built from scratch always mean more, especially when they are created by the children we love!

Feed the birds – wild birds will appreciate the seeds and feed you set out for them. This is a great craft to do with the kids while taking care of your local birds. Set everyone up on a blanket outside with the necessary materials to make an array of bird feeders. It doesn’t have to be complicated and even the simplest of items can be used.
Grab some old twine or rope and string it through peanuts, colourful ribbons work well too. You can also string rope through apples. Hang these on trees and sit back to watch the birds enjoy.
Grass seats – this is a great craft activity that will leave you with some nifty seats to enjoy. Use several large sturdy terracotta pots and paint them a bright color. Let each child pain and design their terracotta pot (seat).
