How Do I Start Marketing My Handicraft Product?

I live in north Carolina. I have started manufacture of certain handicraft items, bags etc. How do I start selling these products to the public? I do not own a retail store or a website. If I would like to introduce my product to chain stores like Michael’s which sell handicraft items, how do I go about it? Any help would be appreciated.

I live in NC as well, and what I would do is to get involved with the annual arts & crafts show that comes every August or September – I can’t remember which month it’s held. Also another suggestion would be to go to your local town, get a peddler’s permit and get yourself a cheap booth at a flea market that way your product gets exposure. I don’t know which county you live in, but in Guilford County, once a year the Arts & Crafts expo comes to the coliseum in Greensboro. I would make myself visible by being somewhere near the coliseum so you can show people what you have.
